You are viewing the overview page of the Commonality analysis step which is part of
the Convert to DITA process. In this step you can compare documents with a migration
template document1. The Commonality
Analysis grid shows how close a document matches by comparing style usage. You can find the following information:
- New Styles - reports for a document how many styles were found that are not
in the template document.
- Unused Styles - reports for a document how many unused styles were found in the template document
- Style Overrides - reports for a document how many unused of the template document have been used
in an overridden form
Grouping is done by assigning document to a migration template document. The benefit of doing this is that you
only have to specify the mapping once. Any document that is grouped to a migration template document will automatically inherit
all the mappings. This not only saves time but will result in consistent conversion results (documents are treated in a similar
way).
