The Convert to DITA process is wizard driven. The wizard pages are only visible when you are logged in and if
your account allows access to use them. Each item is a wizard that will guide you through a step in the content conversion
to DITA. Here are the steps that Stilo Migrate provides for content conversion to DITA.
| I |
Select the source files and
Upload them to Migrate
|
|
Note:
- FrameMaker documents have to be saved as MIF file first.
Tip:
- Multiple files can be zipped first and then uploaded with a single upload.
|
| II |
Perform a
Analysis
on the uploaded documents
|
|
Note:
- Page and image credits will be charged in this step
Tip:
- The content analysis reports where to expect problems
|
| III |
Group similar documents using the
Commonality Analysis
|
|
Tips:
- Use a document template for finding similar documents.
- Set aside some time for creating a document template. Increased migration efficiency will be your reward.

Define
Topic Breaks
|

Notes:
- There are style- and location-based topic breaks.
- Set the style based breaks in the document template first
- Then set location based break overrides for documents grouped under that template.

Content Mappings
|
|
Note:
- Content mappings can be done only for a template
Tip:
- Fine-tune your mappings as often as you like.
|
| VI |
Break into topics with
Topic Creation
|
|
Note:
- A composite topic file will be created.
